Acknowledgment of Country
We acknowledge the Turrbal and Jagera Peoples, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our School is located on a rise above Maiwar, the Brisbane River. They have lived on the shores of Maiwar, the Brisbane River, for millennia, and the river was used as a sustainable resource for food, including wide varieties of fish, shellfish and eels. Sites near the river have held significance from an age-old past to the present for meeting, learning and sharing.
We pay our respects to the Turrbal and Jagera Peoples and respect the love they gave and received from the land, waters and sea.
May we walk gently and respectfully on this land.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)
On Thursday 13 February 2020, the 12th anniversary of the National Apology to the Stolen Generations, our school launched the first All Hallows’ School Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). We launched our second RAP at our Inaugural Mass in 2024. A RAP is a formal statement which recognises our commitment to reconciliation. It is guided by three key themes of Relationships, Respect and Opportunities.
By making this commitment, we aim to create a place of teaching and learning that is culturally inclusive, where aspirations are fostered, diversity is acknowledged and genuine conversations about closing the gap for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are ongoing.
