The transition into Year 7 marks an exciting new chapter for students; one of new opportunities for growth, connection, and challenge.
It is also a time when our students require structured support and care to help them make the most of all that Year 7 and high school life at All Hallows’ has to offer.
The ‘Stepping Up’ To Year 7 Welcome Program is designed to provide such support during this stage of their learning journey.
Working in close collaboration, the Head of Years 7 & 8, Heads of House, Heads of Department, Home Group teachers and classroom teachers create a strong network of care, ensuring that every student feels known, supported, and encouraged as they adapt to the routines of high school life.
Throughout Term 1, students participate in several whole-cohort activities designed to build and strengthen social connections, foster cohort identity and a sense of community, and inspire motivated scholarship and healthy learning habits.
These activities include:
- Diary and Device Orientation
- Potter Library Discovery Day
- Y7 Camp
- Y7 Retreat
- Year 7 & Year 12 Buddy Picnic
By taking the time to guide students through this important transition, the ‘Stepping Up’ Program ensures that every student feels supported, equipped, and ready to embrace the challenges and joys of high school.
