Mrs Catherine O'Kane
Dear Parents and Caregivers
A very warm welcome to Term 3! I hope that you had the opportunity to enjoy some time for rest and relaxation and to spend time with loved ones, recharge your batteries and take advantage of Queensland’s beautiful winter weather.
The start of Term 3 coincides with NAIDOC Week and this year’s theme, Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud, encourages us to celebrate the unyielding spirit of Australia’s First Nations communities and invites us to stand in solidarity, amplifying the voices that have long been silenced.
In recognition of NAIDOC Week, our students will participate in a special prayer at this Friday’s assembly, and there will be a range of activities for different year levels. NAIDOC Week provides many opportunities for all of us to engage with First Nations art, stories or music and reflect on the vibrancy and importance of the oldest continuing culture in the world.
Parent-Student-Teacher feedback meetings
Our dedicated teachers are already preparing for the upcoming Parent-Student-Teacher feedback meetings, which are scheduled for all year levels from 2:00pm next Tuesday 16 July. These important meetings provide a valuable opportunity to discuss your daughter’s progress, strengths and areas for development.
A reminder that students will finish at 12.30pm next Tuesday to allow these feedback meetings to occur.
Emily Deldot Memorial Hockey Game
Over the holidays, current and past students and families gathered for the Emily Deldot Memorial Hockey Game at Easts Hockey, Carina.
Emily was a talented hockey player at both school and club-level, and this annual event is a fitting tribute to a much-loved student who passed away in 2017. It is always heart-warming to see Emily’s classmates come together each year in honour of her memory, and we extend our thanks to Megan, Avio and Lauren Deldot and our Hockey PSG, players, coaching staff, spectators and Easts for their continuing support of this very special event.

Father Daughter Dinner
Tickets are on sale for our annual Father Daughter Dinner, which celebrates the important role of fathers and father figures in your daughter’s life. This year’s Dinner will be held on Saturday 27 July at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. It is always a joyous event that creates memories that last a lifetime.
Thank you to our hard-working P&F for their organisation of this highly anticipated annual event. Tickets are selling fast and can now be purchased online through the link here.
Summative Review – Ms Christine Beckmann, Dean of Student Learning and Data
At All Hallows, we are committed to identifying and making ongoing improvements to our school. This includes our annual Enhancing Teacher Performance process for all teachers and the cyclical review process for staff members in middle and senior leadership positions. As part of this process, I invite parents and caregivers to provide feedback on Ms Christine Beckmann, Dean of Student Learning and Data, and her performance over the past five years.
A copy of the Dean of Student Learning and Data Duty Statement can be found here.
Feedback is invited through a survey form, which is now open and can be provided until Tuesday, July 23. The feedback survey can be accessed here.
The review process is based on the Appraisal Principles detailed in the 2023-2026 Catholic Employers Single Enterprise Collective Agreement Religious Institute Schools of Queensland. As per Section 7.2.8 of the Agreement, any feedback provided and the identity of the person providing the feedback may be made known to Ms Beckmann as part of this review process.
Thank you for taking the time to provide this important feedback. I will provide further information regarding Ms Beckmann’s review at the conclusion of the review process later in the year.
May God bless our school community this term and guide us to Listen with Curiosity, Speak with Courage and Act with integrity.
Mrs. Catherine O’Kane (Principal).
